I would say this volume is the one where came into who I wanted to be since I started trying to write.  There are as many flawed creations here as there
are bouncing baby boys with 10 fingers and 10 toes.  Written primarily after graduation from college, I let the poems become more personal and diverse
without letting go of the comical wit I'm now recognized by.  It was within these pages I also let myself become hardened and bitter, cancelling out emotion
to get a better grip on words and work them in any way I chose.  This will always be the start according to me, and the standard to which I hope to bring my
other volumes up to some day.  Poems from this collection were later integrated into my
second and third books.
A poem about missing yourself after you've ejected a piece: The Dark.  Another poem written for my (now) nortorious AVD PArty: Cupid's Aim.
I live in suburbia, was raised there, and hate being here but refuse to give it up.  Having resented never being able to write on being downtrodden, I tried
something from another perspective in
35 Cent Poem.  People always think Hunger is about sex...wonder why, but it's not.  Read closely.  If you ask
me what my best poem is, I will forever offer up
Empty Set, because it is everything a poem should be in my mind.  My favourite thing about She
Said (part V)
, aside from it being a very readable poem, was the reaction it got from a group of elderlies when I read it somewhere in PA.  People were
saying things like "I can't believe he used that word," "said that phrase," etc.  Don't worry about it being a part in a series...none of the poems have anything
related to each other story-wise.
